Rejoice Emmanuel

What a wonderful Thanksgiving, we have so much to be grateful for. We want to acknowledge our awesome God and his faithfulness. This week Chris felt amazingly better than last time he went through the same treatment. What a joy to see how God has answered our prayers. It is truly "our" prayers, all the prayers known and unknown to our family that have been answered. Don't forget to click the song below, it will bless you.

They are truly good friends

A couple of Chris's friends, Matt and MJ shaved their hair to support Chris. Here are the before and after photos. Thanks guys, you rock.

Today Chris started the first week of the second five week cycle. Please pray that first Chris depends upon God for all his needs, second that he will not having any side effects, hearing loss, heart or liver damage, and third that he has no nausea. Last time this particular treatment made him pretty sick.

A Life Remembered

It was one year ago today that Jeff, John's step-brother was tragically killed in a plane crash. So much has happened over the past year, but I am reminded that our days are numbered and that life is full of uncertainty - we do not know what the next minute let alone year will hold for us. We can only control one thing with certainty and that is how we chose to live here and now.
I am reminded of a statement by Erwin McManus - who I love to read -
" It's important to note what God does promise and what he doesn't. He promises we can be certain about who he is a and we can be certain about our relationship in Him, but how the journey plays out is full of uncertainties."

We remember Jeff and remember a life that was full of life. May we live as if each day may be our last, make a difference and fulfill the dreams and passions that God has given us.

Not feeling well

Today Chris began the second week of consecutive treatment. Unfortuntely he is not feeling well, with both some nausea and just yucky. He will begin what they call the "rescue" tomorrow. Last week by the end of the week he was feeling pretty good, so we pray that he will feel much better soon.

Who is this masked man?

Saturday night was the Stockdale Band Spectacular. This has been Chris's passion the last 3 years - to be part of the marching band. Because of Chris's leg and of course the Chemo treatments he has not been able to march most of this season. So last night they had an Batman costume that they had him wear for the performance. The performance is to the music from Batman. Chirs waited behind a prop and at the appropiate time came out as and took a "pose". God really blessed him with a fun way to be part of the competition.

God is Faithful

Today Chris had his appointment with Dr. Cartmell and the tumor had shrunk by 2.5cm or about 1 inch. Praise God! It was wonderful to know that the treatments along with God's faithfulness were producing physical result.
